    About ARTOUR

The Queensland Touring Services was established in 2009 following state-wide consultation into contemporary arts touring needs.  The Queensland Government’s Coming to a Place Near You Touring Strategy (2009 – 2014) was developed following this consultation.  It supports the need for an easy-to-use touring system that will tour performing arts product to communities who have indicated a desire to host and present performing arts activities.  More information about the strategy can be found at: http://www.arts.qld.gov.au/policy/tourstrategy.html

Queensland Touring Services will assist in implementing the strategy by providing services to support producers and presenters, to grow audiences and to develop smart, easy systems for performing arts touring in Queensland.

Queensland Touring Services has a commitment to provide regional and remote Queensland communities with performances, residencies and workshops of the highest quality, suited to audiences and participants of all ages, tastes and interests.  Companies and artists from Queensland and interstate will be encouraged to apply to the Queensland Touring Fund for touring subsidy.  The recommendation of product to tour will be based on a list of criteria to be found in the Touring Funding Guidelines.   http://www.arts.qld.gov.au/funding/funds-tour.html

Work across all the live performing arts areas including but not limited to drama, physical theatre, circus, dance, opera, puppetry, comedy, all styles of music, children’s theatre, cabaret, live literature and storytelling will be supported by the Queensland Touring Fund.
